African & Caribbean Family History Day
The year 2017 started quietly but ended with a busy autumn programme. In partnership with The Tower Hamlets Local History Library & Archives we held an African & Caribbean Family History Day on Saturday 7 th October 10.30 am to 4pm.
There were a number of stalls and exhibitions on display and over 70 people attended who had the opportunity to see four presentations on African and Caribbean Family history. We also had Prisilla Dujon and two of her sons in attendance, they had graciously allowed us to use their photograph from 1968 as our main publicity shot. We raised £170.00 for the Dominica hurricane relief and were invited to continue our partnership with the Tower Hamlets archive for a Black History month event in October 2018.
